Akkrum is a village with a population of 3500 inhabitants. Situated in countryside that abounds in canals, waterways and lakes. It can easily be reached via the A32 motorway. There is an hourly train connection to Leeuwarden and Amsterdam [Schiphol]. Many waterways connect Akkrum to the Frisian lake district. The stream the Boorne flows through the village. Our home with small boatyard lies on the edge of the village. At the front we enjoy an unrestricted view of the meadows. The back of the property borders on a waterway the “Polsleat”. It is only a 5 minute walk to the village centre. There is a free mooring place at the landing stage for guests arriving by boat. Sailing boats and canoes can be hired in the village.
Use of bikes is free. Small motor boats are for rent.
On departure day guests are asked to vacate their room by 10.30 am. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms.
